Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team

Updated: May 2, 2023

We are delighted to announce that we have recently developed our partnership with Wiley (the publishers of Everything DiSC®) further by becoming an Authorised Partner for The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team™.

This team development programme is based on the best-selling book, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni. The model explores five key stages of team development, all of which need to be present for a team to become truly cohesive and effective and gain competitive advantage.

Five Behaviors Model

To gain this advantage, team must:

Trust One Another

When team members are genuinely transparent and honest with one another, they are able to build vulnerability based trust

Engage in conflict around ideas

When there is trust, team members engage in unfiltered, constructive debate of ideas

Commit to decisions

When team members are able to offer opinions and debate ideas, they will be more likely to commit to decisions

Hold one another accountable

When everyone is committed to a clear plan of action, they will be more willing to hold one another accountable

Focus on achieving collective results

The ultimate goal of building greater trust, conflict, commitment and accountability is one thing: the achievement of results.

The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team is powered by Everything DiSC®, providing a comprehensive, highly personalised 36-page illustrated report that that allows each person on the team, and the team as a whole, to understand how they scored on the assessment and how to interpret their individual and team results. The profile includes an introduction, a section devoted to each of the the five behaviours, a summary of the team's strengths and challenges, tips and suggestions, and a road map to help teams create an action plan based on their results. To supplement the report, a structured workshop allows for conversations around each of the areas and the development of clear actions that will help the team achieve their goals. The workshop can either be facilitated by us, or by an internal facilitator using a comprehensive facilitation kit that provides all of the materials needed.
